This combination medicine is mainly prescribed for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition where the prostate gland becomes enlarged and causes urinary difficulties in men.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate, such as weak stream, frequent urination, and difficulty starting urination
• Long-term management of BPH to reduce the size of the prostate
• Reducing the risk of acute urinary retention and need for prostate surgery in men with BPH

HOW IT WORKS

• Silodosin is an alpha-blocker that relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow
• Dutasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that reduces production of a hormone responsible for prostate enlargement, shrinking the gland over months
• Together they provide faster symptom relief and long-term prostate size reduction

• Not used for prostate cancer treatment
• Not used for urinary tract infections

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Breast tenderness or enlargement
• Diarrhoea
• Weakness or tiredness

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Fainting or severe dizziness
• Prolonged and painful erection
• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, or throat and difficulty breathing
• Signs of liver problems such as yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine, severe stomach pain
• Chest pain or irregular heartbeat

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Take after the same meal every day to maintain consistent absorption
• Swallow the capsule/tablet whole with water; do not crush, chew, or open it
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if symptoms improve, as prostate shrinkage takes several months
• Continue regular follow-up visits so your doctor can monitor your response

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original pack until it is time to take it
• Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to silodosin, dutasteride, or any other ingredient in the medicine
• Have severe liver disease

• Have severe kidney disease requiring dialysis, unless specifically advised by a doctor
