Isotretinoin is prescribed for the treatment of severe nodular or cystic acne that has failed to improve with other acne treatments such as antibiotics or topical medicines.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Severe acne, including cystic and nodular acne
- Acne that has not responded to other treatments
- Acne that is causing scarring or significant distress
HOW IT WORKS
- Shrinks the sebaceous (oil) glands in the skin
- Reduces oil production that clogs pores
- Reduces skin inflammation associated with acne
- Helps prevent formation of new acne lesions over time
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Mild acne that can be managed with creams or gels
- General skin dryness or ageing skin concerns
- Pigmentation or scars not related to active acne

How to Use ISOTROIN 5MG CAPSULE (ISOTRETINOIN 5MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food
- Swallow the capsule/tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush unless advised
- Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
- Continue the full course even if acne appears to improve early
- Use a moisturiser and lip balm regularly as skin dryness is expected
- Avoid excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen daily
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
- If you miss several doses, inform your doctor

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink
- Discard any unused medicine as per your pharmacist's advice
