Uses and Benefits of IVABID 7.5MG TABLET (IVABRADINE 7.5MG)

Ivabradine 7.5mg is used to treat chronic stable angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart) and is also used along with other medicines in chronic heart failure with reduced heart function.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Chronic stable angina in patients who cannot take or tolerate beta-blockers
• Along with beta-blockers when angina is not controlled
• Chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, in patients with a fast heart rate

HOW IT WORKS

• Acts on the sinus node of the heart to slow the heart rate
• Reduces the heart's workload and oxygen demand
• Improves blood flow to the heart muscle without lowering blood pressure much

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used to treat sudden, acute chest pain attacks
• Not used for high blood pressure treatment
• Not a substitute for emergency heart attack treatment
• Not recommended for irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Bright visual sensations of light (luminous phenomena) especially at night
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Slow heart rate

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Blurred vision
• Nausea
• Constipation or diarrhoea
• Palpitations
• Fatigue

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Very slow or irregular heartbeat with dizziness or fainting
• Chest pain that worsens or does not go away
• Swelling of face, lips, or difficulty breathing (allergic reaction)
• Severe fatigue, breathlessness suggesting worsening heart failure

How to Use IVABID 7.5MG TABLET (IVABRADINE 7.5MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice a day
• Take with food to help the body absorb it properly
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop the medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one
• Contact your doctor if you miss doses frequently

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not store in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink
• Discard properly after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have a resting heart rate that is too slow
• Have severe liver disease
• Have unstable angina or recent heart attack
• Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
• Are on certain strong antifungal or antibiotic medicines (as advised by doctor)

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have any history of irregular heartbeat
• Have kidney or liver problems
• Have low blood pressure
• Have had a stroke
• Are taking any other heart medicines

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Certain antifungal medicines (like ketoconazole)
• Certain antibiotics (like clarithromycin)
• Some HIV medicines
• Grapefruit juice
• Other heart-rate lowering medicines like diltiazem or verapamil
