This combination medicine is mainly used to treat chronic stable angina and to help manage heart failure with reduced pumping function, especially in patients whose heart rate remains high despite beta-blocker therapy.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Chronic stable angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to heart muscle)
• Chronic heart failure with elevated heart rate, as an add-on therapy
• Improving heart function and reducing symptoms like breathlessness and fatigue in some patients

HOW IT WORKS

• Carvedilol blocks beta receptors, reducing heart rate, blood pressure and the workload on the heart
• Ivabradine selectively slows the heart’s natural pacemaker, lowering heart rate without lowering blood pressure much
• Together, they help the heart pump more efficiently and reduce chest pain episodes

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for treating acute heart attacks
• Not a first-line treatment for irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
