This combination medicine is used to manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially when diet, exercise, and a single medicine are not enough to control blood sugar.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) in type 2 diabetes
• Used along with diet and exercise for better blood sugar control
• Sometimes used together with other diabetes medicines as advised by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Dapagliflozin blocks a kidney protein (SGLT2), causing extra glucose to be passed out in urine
• Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity in muscles

HOW TO TAKE IT
