Lamotrigine is mainly used to treat epilepsy and to help prevent mood episodes in bipolar disorder.

• Controlling and preventing seizures in epilepsy, alone or with other anti-epileptic medicines
• Preventing depressive episodes in adults with bipolar disorder
• Long-term maintenance treatment as advised by a specialist

HOW IT WORKS

• Stabilises the electrical activity of nerve cells in the brain
• Reduces the release of certain chemical messengers that trigger seizures
• Helps balance mood by acting on brain signalling over time

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a painkiller and does not treat headache or body pain
• Not used for sudden anxiety attacks
• Not a quick-relief medicine for an acute seizure that is already happening
• Not recommended for children below the age advised by the doctor without specialist supervision

How to Use LAMITOR DT 50 (Lamotrigine 50mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day

• Your doctor may start with a low dose and increase it gradually
• Do not change your dose on your own even if you feel better
