This combination medicine is used to treat cough associated with allergic conditions and respiratory tract infections where excess and thick mucus is present.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Cough with mucus (productive cough)
• Allergic conditions like allergic rhinitis, sneezing, runny or itchy nose
• Cold and upper respiratory tract infections with congestion
• Conditions where both allergy symptoms and thick phlegm are present together

HOW IT WORKS

• Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that blocks histamine, reducing sneezing, itching, watery eyes and runny nose
• Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough out
• Together they relieve congestion and make breathing easier

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a cure for the underlying infection causing the cold or cough
• It is not meant for dry cough without mucus
• It should not be used for asthma attacks or as a rescue inhaler substitute
• It is not recommended for chronic conditions without medical supervision

How to Use LAVETA A CAPSULE (LEVOCETIRIZINE 5MG + AMBROXOL 75MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day
• It can be taken with or without food, but taking it after food may reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine as it helps loosen mucus
• Do not take more than the prescribed dose or for longer than advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to levocetirizine, ambroxol, cetirizine, or any other ingredient in this medicine
• Have severe kidney disease without medical guidance
• Are in the first trimester of pregnancy
• Have a known stomach or intestinal ulcer condition affected by mucolytics

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have kidney or liver disease
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have epilepsy or seizure disorders
• Are elderly, as sedation risk may be higher
• Have a history of urinary retention

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Other sedating antihistamines or sleep medicines
• Alcohol, which increases drowsiness
• Certain antibiotics, as ambroxol may increase their concentration in lung tissue
• Cough suppressants, since combining with mucolytics is generally not advised
