This medicine is used to treat high cholesterol and related heart risk in people who need more than one type of cholesterol-lowering action.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol
• Lowering total cholesterol and triglycerides
• Raising HDL (good) cholesterol in some cases
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart problems in people with high cardiovascular risk
• Managing cholesterol when diet and exercise alone are not enough

HOW IT WORKS

• Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol
• Ezetimibe blocks absorption of cholesterol from food and bile in the intestine
• Together they lower cholesterol through two different pathways for better control

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Unexplained severe muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially with fever or dark urine
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, or severe stomach pain (signs of liver problems)
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing, or severe rash
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Persistent vomiting or extreme tiredness

How to Use LIPI EZ 40 TABLET (Atorvastatin 40mg + Ezetimibe 10mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• It is often taken in the evening or at bedtime, with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue taking it even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs regular use
• Do not stop without consulting your doctor
• Get periodic blood tests as advised to monitor cholesterol and liver function

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Keep out of reach of children and pets

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
