Uses and Benefits of LIPICURE CV 40MG CAPSULE (Atorvastatin (40mg) + Clopidogrel (75mg))
This combination is mainly used in patients with cardiovascular disease who need both cholesterol control and blood clot prevention.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Preventing heart attack and stroke in people with existing heart disease
- Managing patients after angioplasty or stent placement
- Reducing high cholesterol levels along with clot prevention
- Secondary prevention after a previous heart attack or stroke
HOW IT WORKS
- Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver that produces cholesterol, lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) and raising HDL (good cholesterol)
- Clopidogrel stops platelets in the blood from clumping together, reducing the risk of dangerous clots forming in narrowed arteries
- Together they help keep blood vessels open and reduce the chance of a repeat cardiac event
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for immediate relief of chest pain or a heart attack in progress
- Not a substitute for emergency treatment of stroke or heart attack
- Not used for general weight loss or unrelated cholesterol-free conditions
- Not recommended for routine use in people without heart disease risk
