Uses and Benefits of LIPRIL 2.5MG TABLET (Lisinopril 2.5mg)

This medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure and to support treatment of heart failure and recovery after a heart attack.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• High blood pressure (hypertension)
• Heart failure, often combined with other heart medicines
• After a heart attack, to help protect the heart
• To help protect the kidneys in some diabetic patients, if advised by your doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks an enzyme called ACE that narrows blood vessels
• This relaxes and widens blood vessels
• This lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart
• It helps the heart pump blood more effectively

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller
• It is not used to treat infections
• It is not a quick-fix for sudden very high blood pressure emergencies
• It is not recommended during pregnancy

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Dry, tickly cough
• Dizziness or light-headedness
• Headache
• Tiredness

• Changes in taste

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat (angioedema)
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing
• Severe dizziness or fainting
• Yellowing of skin or eyes
• Very low urine output
• Fast or irregular heartbeat

How to Use LIPRIL 2.5MG TABLET (Lisinopril 2.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Try to take it at the same time every day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
