This combination is commonly prescribed for moderate pain associated with inflammation, along with fever, when a single painkiller is not enough.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Menstrual cramps (period pain)
• Muscle, joint and back pain
• Toothache and dental pain
• Headache
• Pain and fever after minor injuries or surgery
• Fever associated with pain or inflammation

HOW IT WORKS

• Mefenamic acid blocks enzymes called COX, reducing production of prostaglandins that cause pain, swelling and fever
• Paracetamol acts mainly in the brain to reduce pain signals and lower body temperature
• Together they give faster and more complete relief than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for long-term daily use without medical supervision
• Not a treatment for the underlying cause of pain, such as infection or arthritis flare
• Not suitable for chronic pain conditions unless specifically advised by a doctor

• Severe skin rash, blistering or peeling skin
• Reduced urine output or swelling in legs (kidney problems)
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Chest pain, breathlessness, or signs of a stroke

How to Use MEFTAGESIC TABLET (Mefenamic Acid 500mg + Paracetamol 325mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually after food to reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not increase the dose or frequency on your own
• Avoid taking with alcohol
• Do not use for longer than advised by your doctor
• Do not take other paracetamol or NSAID-containing medicines at the same time without checking with your doctor, to avoid overdose

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to mefenamic acid, paracetamol, aspirin or other NSAIDs
• Have active stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding
• Have severe liver or kidney disease
• Have severe heart failure
• Are in the last trimester of pregnancy
• Have a history of asthma triggered by NSAIDs

• Have a history of stomach ulcers, gastritis or bleeding disorders
• Have kidney, liver or heart disease
• Have high blood pressure
