This medicine is commonly prescribed for painful menstrual cramps and abdominal colic caused by muscle spasm.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Relief of menstrual pain and cramps
• Relief of abdominal cramps due to muscle spasm
• Short-term pain relief associated with spasmodic conditions

HOW IT WORKS

• Mefenamic acid blocks chemicals (prostaglandins) that cause pain, swelling and uterine contractions
• Dicyclomine relaxes smooth muscle in the uterus and intestines, reducing spasm and cramping
• Together they provide combined pain and spasm relief

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for long-term or chronic pain management

• Difficulty breathing, swelling of face/lips/throat
• Yellowing of skin or eyes
• Severe skin reaction with blistering
• Very fast heartbeat or palpitations
• Reduced urine output

How to Use MEFTAL SPAS-DS TABLET (Mefenamic Acid 500mg + Dicyclomine 20mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or after food to reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not increase the dose or take it for longer than recommended
• Drink plenty of water while taking this medicine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to mefenamic acid, dicyclomine, or NSAIDs
• Have active stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding
• Have severe kidney or liver disease
• Have glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, or intestinal/urinary obstruction
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless advised by a doctor
