This medicine is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in adults and children.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Respiratory tract infections such as sinusitis, tonsillitis, and bronchitis
• Ear infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Dental infections
• Certain infections after surgery, as advised by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Amoxycillin kills bacteria by stopping them from building their protective outer wall
• Some bacteria produce an enzyme that destroys Amoxycillin before it can work
• Clavulanic Acid blocks this enzyme, allowing Amoxycillin to work effectively even against resistant bacteria

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections such as common cold, flu, or most sore throats
• Preventing infections without a doctor's advice
• Self-treatment of fever without knowing the cause

• Severe or bloody diarrhoea
• Unusual bruising or bleeding

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Shake the bottle well before every use
• Use the measuring cup or oral syringe provided, not a household spoon
• Take with food to reduce the chance of stomach upset
• Take at evenly spaced intervals as advised by your doctor
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
• Do not stop the medicine on your own, as incomplete treatment can lead to resistant bacteria

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store the reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator, not in the freezer
• Keep the bottle tightly closed
• Discard any unused liquid after the period mentioned on the label, usually within 7 to 10 days
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date
