WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating orthostatic (postural) low blood pressure
• Reducing dizziness, light-headedness and fainting spells caused by standing up
• Improving ability to stand and carry out daily activities in patients with chronic low blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• It acts on blood vessel walls to make them narrower
• Narrowed blood vessels increase resistance and raise blood pressure

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually during the day when you are upright and active
• Swallow the tablet with water; it can be taken with or without food unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Avoid taking it in the evening or close to bedtime, as lying down soon after can raise blood pressure too much
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
• Take doses at roughly the same times each day as advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember, but only if it is still daytime and you will remain upright
• If it is close to bedtime, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule the next day

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
