Mirtazapine is mainly used to treat depression.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of major depressive disorder
• Depression associated with sleep disturbance or poor appetite
• Sometimes used, under medical supervision, for anxiety symptoms occurring along with depression

HOW IT WORKS

• It increases the activity of certain brain chemicals, mainly noradrenaline and serotonin, that regulate mood
• This helps improve mood, sleep, and appetite over a few weeks of regular use
• Improvement is usually gradual and not immediate

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a sleeping pill for occasional insomnia without depression
• It is not meant for quick relief of stress or mild sadness
• It should not be used to self-treat anxiety or sleep problems without medical advice

How to Use MIRTAZ 15MG TABLET (MIRTAZAPINE 15MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at bedtime
• It can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking suddenly, even if you feel better, without consulting your doctor
• It may take a few weeks to feel the full benefit

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE
