This combination is mainly used for long-term control and prevention of asthma symptoms such as wheezing, breathlessness and chest tightness.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Long-term control of asthma
• Prevention of asthma attacks including night-time and exercise-induced symptoms
• Reducing frequency of wheezing and breathlessness episodes
• Add-on treatment along with inhalers in some patients

HOW IT WORKS

• Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that cause airway swelling and narrowing
• Bambuterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles, making breathing easier
• Together they help keep airways open and reduce inflammation over a longer period

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for treating a sudden, severe asthma attack (it is not a rescue inhaler)
• Not for chest infections caused by bacteria
• Not for common cold or seasonal allergies alone
• Not suitable for immediate relief of acute breathlessness

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the evening
• Swallow the tablet with water; it can be taken with or without food
• Do not chew or crush unless your doctor tells you to
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as it works best when taken continuously
• Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in original packaging until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
