Uses and Benefits of MONTICOPE-A TABLET (Montelukast + Levocetirizine + Ambroxol)

This composition is mainly prescribed for allergic conditions of the nose and airways that are accompanied by cough with mucus, such as allergic rhinitis, bronchitis, or asthma-related symptoms with chest congestion.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes)
• Cough with mucus/phlegm
• Wheezing or breathlessness linked to allergies or bronchial congestion
• Seasonal or year-round allergy symptoms with chest congestion

HOW IT WORKS

• Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that cause airway inflammation and narrowing
• Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that reduces sneezing, itching and runny nose
• Ambroxol thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough out

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for immediate relief of sudden breathlessness or an asthma attack
• Not a treatment for bacterial or viral infections
• Not meant for dry cough without mucus
• Not to be used as a general painkiller or fever medicine

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Drowsiness or sleepiness

• Severe allergic reaction: swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing
• Severe skin reactions such as blistering or peeling skin
• Mood changes, agitation, aggression, or unusual behaviour
• Yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine (signs of liver problems)
• Irregular heartbeat or chest pain

How to Use MONTICOPE-A TABLET (Montelukast + Levocetirizine + Ambroxol)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the evening
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow tablets with a glass of water; do not crush unless advised
• If using syrup form, use the measuring cup provided for accurate dosing
• Continue for the full duration advised, even if symptoms improve early
• Do not increase the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Discard opened syrup as per the label instructions, usually within a few weeks

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
