Uses and Benefits of MUCOLITE SYRUP (AMBROXOL 30MG/5ML)

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Chesty cough with thick mucus
- Bronchitis (acute and chronic)
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) related mucus problems
- Other respiratory conditions where mucus clearance is needed, as advised by a doctor
HOW IT WORKS
- It increases the water content of mucus in the airways, making it thinner and less sticky
- It helps the tiny hair-like structures (cilia) in the airways move mucus out more easily
- This makes coughing more productive and helps clear the airways
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a treatment for dry cough without mucus
- It does not treat the underlying cause of infection, such as bacteria or viruses
- It is not a painkiller or fever reducer
- It should not be used as a substitute for antibiotics if a bacterial infection is present
