Uses and Benefits of NEBISTAR 2.5MG TABLET (Nebivolol 2.5mg)

Nebivolol 2.5mg is used mainly to treat high blood pressure and can also be used to support treatment of certain heart conditions as advised by a doctor.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood pressure (hypertension)
• As part of treatment for heart failure in some patients, under specialist care
• Sometimes used to help manage certain heart rhythm or heart-related conditions as prescribed

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks certain receptors (beta-1 receptors) in the heart, reducing heart rate and the force of heart contraction
• Helps relax and widen blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure
• Reduces the workload on the heart

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a painkiller and does not treat headaches or body pain
• Not used for immediate relief of chest pain during a heart attack
• Not a treatment for infections

How to Use NEBISTAR 2.5MG TABLET (Nebivolol 2.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says it is fine
• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, even if you feel better, as this can cause a sudden rise in heart rate or blood pressure
• Continue regular blood pressure or heart rate checks as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have severe liver disease
• Have untreated heart failure that is worsening
