This combination medicine is mainly used to control high blood pressure in adults who need more than one medicine to keep their blood pressure in target range.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Long-term control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control it
• Helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems linked to uncontrolled blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Nebivolol blocks certain receptors in the heart, slowing the heart rate and reducing the force of each heartbeat
• Hydrochlorothiazide acts on the kidneys to increase removal of excess salt and water through urine, lowering blood volume
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a sudden, severe rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency)
• Not a painkiller and does not treat chest pain directly

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Headache

• Severe muscle weakness, cramps or confusion (may indicate low potassium or sodium levels)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, signs of liver problems
• Sudden decrease in urination or swelling of legs/ankles

How to Use NEBISTAR-H TABLET (Nebivolol 5mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Try to take it at the same time every day to build a routine
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless instructed
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, since blood pressure control needs ongoing treatment
• Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can cause a rapid rise in blood pressure or heart problems

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original pack until it is time to take the medicine
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have a very slow heart rate or certain heart rhythm problems
• Have severe heart failure that is not stable
• Have severe liver disease
• Are unable to pass urine (anuria)
• Are allergic to nebivolol, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide-derived medicines, or any ingredient in this tablet
• Have severe asthma or breathing problems with history of bronchospasm

• Have diabetes, gout, or kidney disease
• Have a history of low blood pressure or fainting spells
• Have thyroid problems
