This combination medicine is mainly used to treat mixed infections involving bacteria and anaerobic or protozoal organisms, commonly affecting the gastrointestinal and gynaecological systems.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Infectious diarrhoea and dysentery caused by mixed bacterial and protozoal infection
• Gynaecological infections such as vaginitis and pelvic infections
• Intestinal infections like amoebiasis and giardiasis occurring along with bacterial infection
• Post-surgical infections where mixed organisms are suspected

HOW IT WORKS

• Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that kills bacteria by stopping them from copying their DNA
• Nimorazole acts against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by damaging their genetic material
• Together they cover a broader range of organisms than either drug alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Common cold, flu, or viral fever
• Uncomplicated viral sore throat
• Simple non-infectious diarrhoea
• Prevention of infection without doctor's advice

• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, or throat, and difficulty breathing
• Severe diarrhoea with blood (may indicate colitis)
• Tendon pain, swelling, or sudden difficulty moving a joint
• Numbness, tingling, or weakness (signs of nerve problems)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problems)
• Irregular heartbeat or palpitations
• Seizures or severe confusion

How to Use NIMORAZ-0 TABLET (NIMORAZOLE 500 MG + OFLOXACIN 200 MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or after food to reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
• Drink plenty of water while taking this medicine
• Avoid alcohol during treatment as it may increase side effects
• Take doses at evenly spaced times as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as scheduled
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Do not store in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to nimorazole, ofloxacin, or other fluoroquinolones/nitroimidazoles
• Have a history of tendon problems linked to fluoroquinolone use
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your doctor
• Are a child or young adolescent whose bones are still growing, unless prescribed

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have epilepsy or any seizure disorder
• Have kidney or liver disease
• Have a history of heart rhythm problems
• Have myasthenia gravis or other nerve-muscle disorders
• Are diabetic or have blood sugar control issues
• Are elderly, as risk of side effects may be higher

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Antacids, calcium, iron, or zinc supplements (reduce absorption of ofloxacin)
• Blood thinners like warfarin
• Other medicines that affect heart rhythm
• NSAIDs like ibuprofen (may increase risk of seizures)
• Oral diabetes medicines or insulin
• Alcohol
