Uses and Benefits of NITACURE 500MG TABLET (NITAZOXANIDE 500MG)

Nitazoxanide 500mg is mainly used to treat diarrhoea and intestinal infections caused by certain parasites.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of diarrhoea caused by Giardia lamblia
• Treatment of diarrhoea caused by Cryptosporidium parvum
• Sometimes used for other parasitic gut infections as advised by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks an enzyme that parasites need to survive and multiply
• This stops the parasite from growing, allowing the body to clear the infection
• It also has some activity against certain viruses, though this use is decided by a doctor

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for common viral diarrhoea unless specifically prescribed
• Not a treatment for bacterial infections like typhoid
• Not meant for general stomach pain without a confirmed infection

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
