Piracetam is mainly used to treat myoclonus (sudden muscle jerks) of certain types and to support brain function in people with cognitive impairment linked to ageing or vascular causes.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating cortical myoclonus (muscle jerks arising from the brain), usually along with other medicines
• Supporting mental performance in age-related or vascular cognitive decline
• Sometimes used in dyslexia and vertigo as an add-on therapy, only if advised by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• It acts on the brain cells to improve communication between neurons
• It is thought to improve blood flow and oxygen use in the brain
• It helps stabilise cell membranes, which may reduce abnormal electrical activity

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

How to Use NOOTROPIL SYRUP (PIRACETAM 500MG/5ML)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the dose and frequency advised
• It can be taken with or without food, but taking it with food may reduce stomach upset
• Use the measuring cup or spoon provided with the syrup for accurate dosing
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
• Continue the medicine for as long as your doctor has advised, even if you feel better

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take double the dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the bottle tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the label

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
