WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Urinary tract infections (bladder and kidney infections)
• Infectious diarrhoea caused by certain bacteria
• Some prostate infections, as advised by your doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Norfloxacin stops bacteria from multiplying by blocking enzymes they need to copy their DNA
• This leads to the death of the bacteria causing the infection
• Lactic acid helps create an environment that supports the antibiotic's effectiveness in the urinary tract

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections such as common cold or flu
• Fungal infections
• Infections not caused by bacteria sensitive to norfloxacin
• Self-diagnosed infections without medical advice

• Sudden tendon pain, swelling, or difficulty moving a joint (risk of tendon rupture)
• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, throat, or difficulty breathing
• Severe diarrhoea with blood or mucus
• Numbness, tingling, or weakness suggesting nerve problems
• Unusual mood changes, confusion, hallucinations, or seizures
• Signs of liver problems such as yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine
• Severe skin reactions with blistering or peeling

How to Use NORFLOX 400MG TABLET (Norfloxacin 400mg + Lactic Acid)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after meals
• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water
• Drink plenty of fluids during treatment to help your kidneys
• Avoid taking it with dairy products, antacids, or mineral supplements at the same time, as these can reduce absorption
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve earlier

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to norfloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics
• Have a history of tendon problems linked to fluoroquinolones
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your doctor
• Are below 18 years of age, unless prescribed by a specialist

• Have kidney or liver disease
• Have a history of epilepsy or seizures
• Have myasthenia gravis or other muscle/nerve disorders
• Have a history of heart rhythm problems
• Are diabetic or have low blood sugar episodes

• Antacids, calcium, iron, or zinc supplements
• Blood thinners like warfarin
• Theophylline used for breathing problems
• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
• Medicines that affect heart rhythm
