Uses and Benefits of OCEPRED EYE DROP (PREDNISOLONE+OFLOXZCIN)
This combination is mainly used to treat infected and inflamed conditions of the eye or ear.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Bacterial infections of the eye or ear with associated swelling and redness
- Post-operative eye inflammation with risk of infection
- Ear infections with discharge and inflammation
HOW IT WORKS
- Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills or stops growth of bacteria causing the infection
- Prednisolone is a steroid that reduces swelling, redness, itching and irritation
- Together they treat both the infection and the inflammation it causes
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Viral or fungal eye/ear infections
- Plain allergic conjunctivitis without infection
- Ear infections with a perforated eardrum unless specifically advised by doctor
- Long-term or routine use without medical supervision

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Mild burning or stinging after applying drops
- Temporary blurred vision
- Itching or irritation at the site of application
- Watering of eyes
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Dryness of eye or ear
- Taste disturbance if drops drain into throat
- Mild headache
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe eye pain or worsening redness
- Sudden vision loss or significant vision changes
- Signs of allergic reaction like swelling of face, lips, rash, or difficulty breathing
- Increased eye pressure symptoms like halos around lights
- Non-healing wound at application site

How to Use OCEPRED EYE DROP (PREDNISOLONE+OFLOXZCIN)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use only as prescribed by your doctor, in the eye or ear as directed
- Wash your hands before use
- Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to instill eye drops, or tilt head sideways for ear drops
- Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye, ear, or any surface
- Close your eyes gently for a minute after using eye drops
- Do not stop treatment early even if symptoms improve, unless told by your doctor
- Do not use for longer than prescribed duration
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not apply a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use
- Discard the bottle after the recommended period once opened, as advised on the label
- Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to prednisolone, ofloxacin, or other steroids/quinolone antibiotics
- Have a viral infection like herpes affecting the eye
- Have a fungal or untreated infection of the eye or ear
- Have a perforated eardrum (for ear drops), unless your doctor advises otherwise
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have glaucoma or high eye pressure
- Wear contact lenses
- Have diabetes
- Are using any other eye or ear medicines
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other steroid-containing eye or ear preparations
- Other topical antibiotics used at the same site
- Any other prescription eye or ear drops without doctor's knowledge
