This medicine is used for the long-term management of high blood pressure (hypertension), especially when it is not adequately controlled with a single blood pressure lowering medicine.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of high blood pressure in adults
• Used when two or more medicines are needed together to control blood pressure
• May be used to reduce strain on the heart caused by prolonged high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Olmesartan blocks a hormone (angiotensin II) that narrows blood vessels, helping them relax
• Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessel walls, reducing resistance to blood flow
• Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing blood volume and pressure
• Together, these three actions lower blood pressure more effectively than a single medicine

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a treatment for sudden chest pain or heart attack
• Not meant for emergency lowering of dangerously high blood pressure

• Signs of high potassium or low sodium: muscle weakness, confusion, tingling
• Severe stomach pain, prolonged diarrhoea, or signs of dehydration
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)

How to Use OLKEM TRIO 12.5 TAB (Olmesartan 20mg + Cilnidipine 10mg + Chlorthalidone 12.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Try to take it at the same time every day to maintain steady blood pressure control
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless instructed
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs continued use
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging until use
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Are breastfeeding
• Have a known allergy to Olmesartan, Cilnidipine, Chlorthalidone, or sulfa-related drugs
• Have severe kidney disease or are unable to pass urine (anuria)
• Have severe liver disease

• Have diabetes, as this combination can affect blood sugar and potassium levels
• Have kidney or liver problems
• Have gout or a history of high uric acid levels
• Are on a salt-restricted or low-sodium diet
