WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Long-term control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Reducing risk of heart and kidney complications linked to uncontrolled blood pressure
• Use when treatment with one or two blood pressure medicines is not enough

HOW IT WORKS

• Olmesartan blocks a chemical (angiotensin II) that narrows blood vessels, helping them relax
• Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessel walls, lowering pressure
• Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that removes extra salt and water through urine, reducing blood volume and pressure
• Together, these three actions lower blood pressure through different pathways

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a sudden severe rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency)
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine

• Very low urine output or signs of kidney problems
• Irregular heartbeat, severe muscle weakness, or signs of low potassium/sodium
• Severe diarrhoea and vomiting leading to dehydration

How to Use OLKEM TRIO 40 (Olmesartan 40mg + Cilnidipine 10mg + Chlorthalidone 12.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at the same time every day
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless instructed
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, as blood pressure may rise again
• Continue regular blood pressure checks and follow-up visits as advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original packaging until use
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
