This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults who are not adequately controlled on a single medicine.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when blood pressure is not controlled by olmesartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone
• Helps reduce risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems linked to long-term high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Olmesartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II, which relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure
• Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water from the body
• Together they reduce fluid volume and blood vessel tightness, lowering blood pressure

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a hypertensive emergency
• Not a treatment for heart failure alone
• Not used for diabetes, cholesterol, or infections
• Not recommended as a first-choice medicine in pregnancy

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Dizziness
• Headache
• Tiredness or weakness

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Nausea or upset stomach

• Mild skin rash or itching

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe dizziness, fainting, or fast heartbeat
• Signs of high potassium or low potassium (muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat)
• Severe diarrhoea, vomiting, or unexplained weight loss (may indicate a rare intestinal problem)
• Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing (allergic reaction)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, or signs of kidney problems (reduced urination, swelling in legs)
• Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling

How to Use OLMETOR H TABLET (Olmesartan 20mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs consistent use
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light, and moisture
• Keep in original packaging until use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Are allergic to olmesartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfa-based medicines
• Have severe kidney disease or are unable to pass urine
• Have severe liver disease
• Have uncontrolled low potassium or low sodium levels
