This medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure in adults.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Sometimes used along with other blood pressure medicines for better control
• Helping to reduce the risk of heart and kidney problems linked to high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks the action of a natural chemical called angiotensin II
• This chemical normally tightens blood vessels, raising blood pressure

• Severe dizziness or fainting
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, and difficulty breathing
• Severe watery diarrhoea with significant weight loss (sprue-like enteropathy)
• Very little or no urine output, indicating kidney problems
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Chest pain or irregular heartbeat

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor

• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, as blood pressure may rise again

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
