This medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), especially in patients who need more than one medicine to control it.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Control of high blood pressure
• Sometimes used to reduce strain on the heart in patients with related heart conditions, as advised by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Olmesartan blocks the action of a chemical called angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to narrow. This helps blood vessels relax and widen, lowering blood pressure.
• Metoprolol is a beta-blocker that slows down the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions, which also helps lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart.
• Together, they provide better blood pressure control than either medicine alone.

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• It can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says it is fine
• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, even if you feel better, as this can cause a sudden rise in blood pressure or heart problems
• Continue regular blood pressure and heart rate monitoring as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
