WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Managing high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) in adults with type 2 diabetes
• Used alone or along with other diabetes medicines as advised by your doctor
• Helps reduce the risk of long-term diabetes complications when blood sugar is well controlled

HOW IT WORKS

• Metformin decreases the amount of sugar produced by the liver and helps the body use insulin better

• Signs of low blood sugar - sweating, shakiness, confusion, dizziness
• Signs of pancreatitis - severe stomach pain spreading to the back, vomiting
• Signs of allergic reaction - swelling of face/lips/throat, severe rash, difficulty breathing
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)

HOW TO TAKE IT

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to metformin, linagliptin, or any other ingredient in the tablet
