WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of depression with associated anxiety
• Short-term management of severe anxiety symptoms alongside depression
• Improving sleep disturbance linked to anxiety and depression

HOW IT WORKS

• Paroxetine increases the level of serotonin, a mood-regulating chemical, in the brain
• Clonazepam acts on brain receptors (GABA) to produce a calming, anti-anxiety, and muscle-relaxing effect
• Together they help relieve both low mood and excessive worry or restlessness

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for routine or long-term use as a sleeping pill
• Not used for general body pain, fever, or infections

• Thoughts of self-harm or suicide, especially in young adults

• Signs of serotonin syndrome: agitation, high fever, fast heartbeat, muscle stiffness
• Severe drowsiness, confusion, or difficulty waking up
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Slowed or difficult breathing

How to Use PEXEP PLUS 25MG CAPSULE (Paroxetine 25mg + Clonazepam 0.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at night
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Can be taken with or without food, but taking it at the same time each day helps
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it may cause withdrawal symptoms
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in a dry place, away from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to paroxetine, clonazepam, or benzodiazepines
• Have severe liver disease or breathing problems like severe sleep apnoea
• Are taking or have recently taken MAO inhibitor medicines
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your doctor
• Have a history of drug or alcohol dependence, unless closely monitored by a doctor

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have a history of depression with suicidal thoughts or bipolar disorder
• Have glaucoma, kidney or liver disease
• Have a history of seizures
• Are elderly, as sedation risk is higher
• Are planning surgery requiring anaesthesia

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Other antidepressants or MAO inhibitors
• Blood thinners like warfarin or aspirin
• Other sedatives, sleeping pills, or alcohol
• Migraine medicines (triptans)
• Opioid painkillers
