This medicine is used to relieve cough and associated cold symptoms caused by respiratory infections, allergies, or irritation of the airways.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Cough with mucus (productive cough)
- Dry, irritating cough
- Running nose, sneezing due to allergy or cold
- Chest congestion during cold or flu
HOW IT WORKS
- Ammonium chloride and guaifenesin act as expectorants, thinning mucus so it can be coughed out more easily
- Dextromethorphan acts on the brain's cough centre to reduce the urge to cough
- Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks histamine, reducing sneezing, watery eyes, and nasal discharge
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not for treating the underlying infection itself (like bacterial pneumonia)
- Not a substitute for antibiotics if a bacterial infection is diagnosed
- Not meant for long-term daily use without medical supervision
- Not recommended for chronic breathing conditions like asthma or COPD without doctor's advice

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a measuring cap or spoon, not a regular kitchen spoon
- Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
- Shake the bottle well before use, if instructed on the label
- Do not exceed the frequency or duration advised by your doctor
- Avoid taking other cough or cold medicines at the same time unless approved, to prevent overdose of similar ingredients
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal
- Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep the bottle tightly closed
- Keep out of reach and sight of children
- Discard any unused syrup after the expiry date or as per label instructions

- Are currently taking MAO inhibitor medicines (for depression) or have taken them in the last 2 weeks
- Have severe breathing problems like severe asthma
- Are a child below the age recommended by your doctor
