Uses and Benefits of PICLIN SYRUP (Sodium Picosulphate 10mg)
Sodium picosulphate is used mainly to treat constipation and to prepare the bowel for medical procedures.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of occasional constipation
- Bowel cleansing before colonoscopy, X-ray or surgery of the intestine
- Short-term use when other measures like diet and fluids have not helped
HOW IT WORKS
- It stimulates the nerve endings in the wall of the large intestine
- This increases muscle movement (peristalsis) in the bowel
- It also helps draw water into the bowel, softening stools
- Bowel movement usually happens within 6 to 12 hours of taking it
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a treatment for the underlying cause of chronic constipation
- It is not meant for long-term or daily use
- It does not treat diarrhoea, infections, or abdominal pain unrelated to constipation
- It should not be used to promote weight loss

How to Use PICLIN SYRUP (Sodium Picosulphate 10mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor or as per the product instructions
- Usually taken by mixing with water and drinking it
- Often taken at bedtime for morning relief, or as directed timing before a procedure
- Drink plenty of fluids while using this medicine
- Do not use for more than a few days without consulting a doctor
