WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
• Used along with diet and exercise for better blood sugar control

HOW IT WORKS

• Pioglitazone makes the body's cells more sensitive to insulin, helping muscles and fat use glucose better

• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, or severe tiredness (possible liver problem)
• Sudden weight gain, shortness of breath, or swelling suggesting heart or fluid problems
• Signs of low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, confusion, or fainting
• Vision changes or new eye pain
• Unexplained bone fractures

HOW TO TAKE IT

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
