WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Managing signs and symptoms of Parkinson's disease such as tremors, stiffness and slow movement
• Treating moderate to severe Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), a condition causing an urge to move the legs, especially at night

HOW IT WORKS

• Pramipexole acts like dopamine in the brain by stimulating dopamine receptors
• This helps improve control of movement and reduces the uncomfortable sensations linked to RLS
• It does not cure Parkinson's disease but helps control its symptoms

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used for general anxiety, depression, or ordinary muscle cramps

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Try to take it at the same time(s) each day to maintain steady effect
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
• Do not stop the medicine suddenly, as this can cause withdrawal-like symptoms; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually if needed

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

• Sedatives, sleeping pills or alcohol, which can increase drowsiness
• Medicines that affect kidney elimination, such as cimetidine
