WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Regular maintenance treatment of asthma
- Long-term management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Prevention of wheezing, breathlessness, and chest tightness
- Reducing the frequency of asthma or COPD flare-ups
HOW IT WORKS
- Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes tightened airway muscles, making breathing easier
- Budesonide is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways
- Together they help keep airways open and less reactive over time
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not for sudden, acute breathlessness or an asthma attack already in progress
- Not a rescue/quick-relief inhaler — a separate fast-acting inhaler is needed for sudden symptoms
- Not used for infections like cold, cough due to viral illness, or pneumonia
- Not meant for occasional or one-time use — it works best with regular daily use
