Rifampicin 300mg is primarily used to treat tuberculosis (TB) infections, and is also used in the treatment of leprosy and prevention of meningococcal infections in certain cases.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis
• Treatment of leprosy, usually combined with other medicines
• Prevention of meningococcal disease in close contacts of infected patients

HOW IT WORKS

• Rifampicin stops bacteria from making proteins they need to survive
