Rifampicin 450mg is primarily used to treat tuberculosis (TB) and some other serious bacterial infections, always as part of a doctor-guided treatment plan.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of pulmonary and extra-pulmonary tuberculosis, usually combined with other anti-TB medicines
• Treatment of leprosy, as part of multi-drug therapy
• Prevention of meningococcal disease in close contacts of infected persons, as advised by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Swallow the tablet with a full glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue the full course even if you start feeling better, as stopping early can cause treatment failure and drug resistance

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
