Uses and Benefits of RCIN 450MG CAPSULE (Rifampicin 450mg)
Rifampicin 450mg is primarily used to treat tuberculosis (TB) and some other serious bacterial infections, always as part of a doctor-guided treatment plan.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

- Treatment of leprosy, as part of multi-drug therapy
- Prevention of meningococcal disease in close contacts of infected persons, as advised by a doctor
- Treatment of certain other bacterial infections when specifically prescribed
HOW IT WORKS
- Rifampicin kills bacteria by blocking an enzyme they need to make RNA
- This stops bacteria from multiplying and growing
- It is effective against slow-growing and dormant bacteria, which is important in TB treatment
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used for viral infections like common cold, flu, or COVID-19
- It is not a painkiller or fever medicine
- It should not be used alone to treat TB, as this can lead to drug resistance
- It is not meant for self-diagnosed infections without a doctor's confirmation
