Flupirtine 100mg is mainly used to relieve pain of moderate intensity, especially when muscle tension is also present.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of moderate acute pain such as muscular pain
- Pain following minor injuries or surgery, as advised by the doctor
- Pain associated with muscle spasm or tension
HOW IT WORKS
- It acts on certain channels in the nervous system to reduce the transmission of pain signals
- It has a mild muscle-relaxant effect, which helps in pain linked with muscle tightness
- It does not belong to the opioid or NSAID group of painkillers
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used for fever alone
- It is not a first-line treatment for chronic long-term pain due to liver safety concerns

How to Use RETENSE CAPSULE (FLUPIRTINE 100MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with water
- It can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
- Do not increase the dose or take it for longer than prescribed
- Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew unless instructed
- Your doctor may ask for periodic liver function tests during treatment
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
