Ropinirole 0.5mg is used to treat conditions related to low dopamine activity in the brain.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of Parkinson's disease symptoms such as stiffness, slowness and tremor
• Treatment of moderate to severe Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), especially symptoms occurring in the evening or night
• Can be used alone or along with other Parkinson's disease medicines like levodopa

HOW IT WORKS

• Ropinirole mimics the action of dopamine, a natural brain chemical involved in controlling movement
• By stimulating dopamine receptors, it helps reduce tremor, stiffness and slow movement
• In RLS, it helps calm the urge to move the legs and improves sleep quality

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a meal to reduce nausea

• Try to take it at the same time(s) each day for consistent effect
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen symptoms
• Dose may be increased gradually by your doctor, so do not self-adjust

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
