This medicine is used to treat high cholesterol (dyslipidaemia) and to reduce the risk of heart disease in people who need stronger LDL cholesterol control than a single statin can provide.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol
• Reducing risk of heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients
• Managing cholesterol when diet and single statin therapy are not enough

HOW IT WORKS

• Rosuvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol, lowering LDL levels

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew
• Take at the same time each day for best results
• Continue taking it even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs regular use
• Do not stop without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
