Uses and Benefits of RYBELSUS 14MG TABLET (SEMAGLUTIDE 14MG)

Semaglutide 14mg is mainly used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• To control high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
• To be used along with diet and exercise as advised by your doctor
• Sometimes used along with other diabetes medicines

HOW IT WORKS

• It mimics a natural hormone called GLP-1 that helps the pancreas release insulin when blood sugar is high
• It slows down stomach emptying, which helps reduce sugar spikes after meals
• It reduces the amount of sugar released by the liver

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for type 1 diabetes
• Not a treatment for diabetic ketoacidosis

• Severe abdominal pain that may radiate to the back (possible pancreatitis)
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face or throat, difficulty breathing
• Symptoms of low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, confusion (especially if taken with other diabetes medicines)
• Vision changes
• Signs of gallbladder problems such as yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine

How to Use RYBELSUS 14MG TABLET (SEMAGLUTIDE 14MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• Usually taken once daily, first thing in the morning
• Swallow the tablet whole with a small sip of plain water (about half a glass or less)
• Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet
• Wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking anything else, or taking other oral medicines
• Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the usual time
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
• If you are unsure, contact your doctor or pharmacist for guidance

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the tablet in its original blister pack until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to semaglutide or any other ingredient in the tablet
• Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
• Have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
• Are breastfeeding

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have a history of pancreatitis
• Have kidney or liver disease
• Have diabetic retinopathy or other eye problems
• Have a history of gallbladder disease
• Are taking insulin or other diabetes medicines

• Insulin and other blood sugar–lowering medicines (risk of low blood sugar)
• Oral medicines that need to be absorbed quickly, since this medicine slows stomach emptying
• Warfarin and other blood thinners
