Semaglutide 7mg is used mainly to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus and to support weight management in certain patients when combined with diet and exercise.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
• Helping reduce body weight in overweight or obese adults, when prescribed for this purpose
• Reducing risk of certain heart-related complications in some diabetic patients, as advised by the doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Mimics the natural hormone GLP-1 that helps the pancreas release insulin when blood sugar is high

• Severe stomach pain spreading to the back, possible sign of pancreatitis
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, tongue, or difficulty breathing
• Symptoms of very low blood sugar such as shakiness, sweating, confusion, or fainting, especially if taken with other diabetes medicines
• Vision changes, especially if you have diabetic eye disease
• Signs of gallbladder problems such as yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine
• Reduced urine output or signs of kidney problems

How to Use RYBELSUS 7MG TABLET (SEMAGLUTIDE 7MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous), usually in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm
• Taken once a week, on the same day each week, as prescribed by your doctor
• Can be taken with or without food
• Your doctor or nurse will show you the correct injection technique before you use it yourself
• Do not change the dose or frequency without consulting your doctor
• Rotate injection sites to avoid skin problems

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as possible if it has been less than a few days since the scheduled day
• If it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule
• Do not take two doses close together to make up for a missed one
• Contact your doctor if you are unsure what to do

STORAGE

• Store in a refrigerator, away from the freezer compartment
• Once in use, some pens may be kept at room temperature for a limited period as per the product leaflet
• Keep away from direct light and heat
• Do not use if the liquid looks cloudy, discoloured, or has particles
• Keep out of reach of children
• Dispose of used needles safely as guided by your pharmacist

This is a prescription-only medicine in India and should be used only under the guidance and supervision of a registered doctor.

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
• Have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
• Are allergic to semaglutide or any of its components
• Have type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy, unless specifically advised by your doctor

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have a history of pancreatitis
• Have kidney or liver disease
• Have diabetic retinopathy or other eye problems
• Have gallbladder disease
• Are breastfeeding
• Are taking other diabetes medicines, especially insulin or sulfonylureas

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Insulin and other diabetes medicines, which may increase risk of low blood sugar
• Oral medicines, since semaglutide can slow stomach emptying and affect their absorption
• Warfarin and other blood thinners, requiring closer monitoring
• Other injectable GLP-1 receptor agonists, should not be combined
