Risperidone 3mg is mainly used to treat mental health conditions where thinking, mood, and behaviour are affected.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Schizophrenia
• Bipolar disorder (episodes of mania)
• Behavioural problems associated with autism, in some cases
• Certain other psychotic conditions as advised by your doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks certain dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain
• This helps reduce hallucinations, delusions, and disturbed thinking
• It also helps stabilise mood and reduce agitation

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a cure for mental illness, only helps control symptoms
• It is not used for simple anxiety or everyday stress
• It is not a sleeping pill, though drowsiness can occur
• It should not be used in elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis unless specifically advised, due to increased risk of stroke

How to Use SIZODON 3MG TABLET (Risperidone 3mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice a day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush unless your doctor says it is fine
• Try to take it at the same time each day to build a routine
• Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one
• If you miss several doses, inform your doctor before restarting

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight
• Keep in the original packaging, away from moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
