Uses and Benefits of SPNIB 70MG TABLET (DASATINIB 70MG)

Dasatinib 70mg is used to treat certain blood cancers where abnormal white blood cells grow uncontrollably.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) in various phases
• Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph+ ALL)
• Used when other treatments have not worked well or are not suitable

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks an abnormal protein called BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase
• This protein signals cancer cells to multiply uncontrollably
• By blocking it, dasatinib slows or stops the growth of cancer cells

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used for common infections or general body pain
• It is not a cure for all types of cancer
• It is not to be used without a confirmed diagnosis and doctor's prescription
• It is not meant for self-medication or over-the-counter use

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Headache
• Nausea or diarrhoea
• Fatigue or weakness
• Muscle or joint pain

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Fluid retention causing swelling in legs or face
• Low blood counts leading to weakness or frequent infections
• Loss of appetite
• Abdominal pain

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Shortness of breath or chest pain (may indicate fluid around lungs or heart)
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Signs of infection such as high fever or chills
• Severe stomach pain or black stools (possible internal bleeding)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Sudden swelling with rapid weight gain

How to Use SPNIB 70MG TABLET (DASATINIB 70MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food, but be consistent with your chosen method
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, split or chew it
• Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take double doses to make up for a missed one
• Contact your doctor if you miss doses frequently

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not store in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink
• Dispose of expired or unused medicine safely, do not flush it down the drain

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Antacids, proton pump inhibitors and H2 blockers (can reduce absorption)
