This medicine is used to treat patients who have high blood pressure along with high cholesterol, especially those at risk of heart disease.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Lowering high cholesterol and triglyceride levels
• Reducing risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with both conditions

HOW IT WORKS

• Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood and lowering blood pressure
• Atorvastatin reduces production of cholesterol in the liver, lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) and raising HDL (good cholesterol)
• Together they help protect the heart and blood vessels from damage caused by high blood pressure and high cholesterol

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not for emergency treatment of very high blood pressure
• Not a treatment for chest pain occurring suddenly (angina attack)
• Not meant for weight loss or general heart tonic use
• Not to be used without a doctor's prescription

• Unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness (sign of muscle breakdown)
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problem)
• Severe dizziness, fainting, or very fast/irregular heartbeat
• Signs of allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing
• Severe stomach pain

How to Use STARCAD 12.5MG TABLET (AMLODIPINE 2.5 MG + ATORVASTATIN 10 MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day
• Avoid grapefruit juice as it may interact with this medicine
• Do not stop taking suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture

• Keep out of reach of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
