This medicine is mainly used to treat and relieve pain from stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and irritation of the food pipe caused by acid reflux.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of gastric (stomach) ulcers
- Treatment of duodenal ulcers
- Relief of pain and discomfort caused by acid reflux or gastritis
- Protection of the irritated stomach or oesophagus lining
HOW IT WORKS
- Sucralfate forms a protective coating over the ulcer or damaged tissue, shielding it from acid and enzymes so it can heal
- Oxetacaine is a local anaesthetic that numbs the lining, giving fast relief from burning pain
- Together they provide both protection and quick symptom relief
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for general body pain or headaches
- Not a treatment for infections such as H. pylori (though it may be used alongside other medicines for ulcers caused by it)
- Not meant for long-term daily use without medical supervision
- Not used to treat vomiting or diarrhoea unrelated to acid or ulcer disease

How to Use SUCRAMAL O SYRUP (Sucralfate 500mg + Oxetacaine 10mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually before meals and at bedtime
- Shake the liquid form well before use, if applicable
- Swallow tablets with a little water; do not chew unless advised
- Avoid taking other medicines, especially antacids, within a couple of hours of this medicine, as it may reduce its effect
- Do not eat or drink immediately after taking the liquid form, as the numbing effect may make swallowing feel different
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
