Uses and Benefits of SUITGLIP 50MG TABLET (SITAGLIPTIN 50MG)

Sitagliptin 50mg is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus by helping control blood sugar levels.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar in type 2 diabetes
• Used alone or combined with other anti-diabetic medicines like metformin
• Used along with proper diet and exercise

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks an enzyme called DPP-4
• This increases levels of natural hormones (incretins) that help the pancreas release insulin after meals
• Also reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for type 1 diabetes
• Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis
• Not a substitute for insulin in insulin-dependent patients
• Not meant for weight loss or general fatigue

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Severe stomach pain that spreads to the back, possibly with vomiting (signs of pancreatitis)
• Signs of allergic reaction like swelling of face, lips, throat, or difficulty breathing
• Skin blistering, peeling, or severe rash
• Signs of low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, or confusion, especially if taken with other diabetes medicines
• Joint pain that is severe and persistent

How to Use SUITGLIP 50MG TABLET (SITAGLIPTIN 50MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as diabetes needs long-term control
• Do not stop the medicine without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light, and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to sitagliptin or any other ingredient in the tablet
