Uses and Benefits of TOBA-F SUSPENSION (TOBRAMYCIN 0.3%W/V+FLUOROMETHOLONE 0.1%W/V)
This medicine is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye that are accompanied by inflammation.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Bacterial conjunctivitis with inflammation
- Post-operative eye inflammation with risk of infection
- Blepharitis and other external eye infections with swelling
- Eye inflammation where a bacterial cause is suspected or confirmed
HOW IT WORKS
- Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that kills susceptible bacteria by stopping their protein production
- Fluorometholone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, swelling, and discomfort in the eye
- Together they treat the infection while controlling the inflammatory reaction caused by it
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Viral eye infections such as herpes keratitis
- Fungal eye infections
- Eye injuries with unremoved foreign material
- Glaucoma or other non-infective, non-inflammatory eye conditions
- General eye dryness or allergic conjunctivitis alone

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Temporary burning or stinging after applying the drop
- Mild eye irritation
- Watering of the eyes
- Blurred vision for a short time after use
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Itching or redness of the eyelids
- Sensitivity to light
- Dry eye sensation
- Increased eye pressure with prolonged use
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Severe eye pain or worsening redness
- Sudden vision loss or significant blurring that does not go away
- Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of eyelids, face, or difficulty breathing
- Signs of eye infection worsening despite treatment
- Development of a white spot or ulcer on the eye

How to Use TOBA-F SUSPENSION (TOBRAMYCIN 0.3%W/V+FLUOROMETHOLONE 0.1%W/V)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Use only in the eye, as prescribed by your doctor
- Wash your hands before using the drop
- Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and place the drop inside without touching the tip to your eye or eyelid
- Close your eye gently for a minute after instilling the drop
- If using more than one eye medicine, wait at least 5 minutes between different drops
- Do not wear contact lenses while using this medicine unless your doctor allows it
- Use exactly for the duration advised by your doctor, even if symptoms improve early
- Do not stop treatment suddenly without consulting your doctor, especially since it contains a steroid
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Apply the missed drop as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not apply two drops together to make up for a missed dose
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
- Keep the bottle tightly closed and away from children
- Discard the bottle after the period mentioned on the label once opened
- Do not use if the solution changes colour or appears cloudy

This medicine is available only with a doctor's prescription in India and should be used under the supervision of an eye specialist.
DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to tobramycin, fluorometholone, or any other ingredient in the drop
- Have a viral or fungal infection of the eye
- Have untreated eye infections such as herpes simplex keratitis
- Have an eye injury with a foreign body still present
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have glaucoma or a history of high eye pressure
- Have had cataract surgery or other recent eye surgery
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Wear contact lenses
- Have a history of frequent eye infections or thinning of the cornea
- Are using any other eye drops or eye ointments
MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Other eye drops containing steroids or antibiotics
- Other aminoglycoside antibiotics used systemically
- Any other topical eye medicine, unless spaced apart as advised by your doctor

Only use it in the eye(s) your doctor has advised, since using it unnecessarily in a healthy eye is not recommended.
How long can I use this eye drop?
Use it only for the duration prescribed by your doctor, as prolonged steroid use can raise eye pressure and cause other complications.
Can children use this medicine?
